Video Editor - YouTube Content

About the role

A Video Editor is sought for a YouTube and video production team based in Malaysia. You will work closely with the YouTube channel leads and video producers to create high-quality organic content for three channels: The Smart Local, Eatbook and Zula. The role covers the full post-production process (offline and online) and advises the production team on post-production best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality creative edits and run an efficient post-production process for the relevant channels
• Follow the brand standards, guidelines and styles of each channel
• Streamline workflow, delivery and asset organisation
• Manage several edit projects at once while meeting deadlines and keeping quality
• Work with video producers to understand objectives and suggest ideas that improve visual storytelling
• Keep looking for and adopt new post-production tools and techniques to boost efficiency

Required profile

• At least 3 years of video editing experience, with a strong portfolio
• Experience editing long-form YouTube videos and YouTube Shorts for organic channels
• Creative, organised and able to work independently; meticulous about detail
• Clear English communication; Mandarin Chinese is an advantage

Required skills

• Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve
• Adobe Illustrator or Canva for video graphics
• Motion graphics or animation experience is an advantage
