Senior Solutions Engineer (Pre-Sales) - Storage

About the role

NetApp is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer (pre-sales) in its sales function, based in Kuala Lumpur. The role provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products, applications and solutions, using NetApp's data storage portfolio to meet customer technical needs. You will be assigned to a district team and sales leader, helping expand NetApp's presence with existing and new clients and their business partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to sales staff and customers through sales presentations and product demonstrations
• Help sales staff assess how NetApp products fit customer needs and prepare detailed product specifications for customer projects
• Create design and implementation specifications for complex products and applications, and build mini-applications to demonstrate feasibility
• Advise prospective users and validate product capabilities
• Design tailored storage solutions, including on-premise or hybrid storage architectures (NAS, SAN and Object Storage)
• Develop storage and data management solutions for enterprise applications, including cloud services
• Explain the NetApp storage ecosystem, create ROI/TCO overviews and advise on using technical resources
• Work with client executives and partner sales to develop storage-related opportunities

Required profile

• At least 10 years of experience in technical specifications of storage products and services
• Prior experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect or Solutions Engineer on storage technologies
• Ability to act as a subject-matter expert, influence the sales team and make project decisions
• Preferred: experience with EMC, HDS, HPE, IBM, VMware or PureStorage products

Required skills

• Knowledge of NAS, SAN and Object Storage
• Preferred: knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and hybrid multi-cloud technologies
• Preferred: knowledge of Cloud, AI/ML, databases, microservices, enterprise applications or DevOps
