Senior Associate, Fund Accountant (Real Estate)

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, which provides asset servicing solutions such as fund administration, custody and trustee services to the global investment management industry, is hiring a Senior Associate Fund Accountant for real estate in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Associate Director, the role sits within a fast-growing financial services company.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a full range of fund accounting services, including NAV preparation, booking accruals, asset valuation and cash and portfolio reconciliations.
• Prepare capital calls, distributions and their allocation.
• Prepare fee schedules, including management fees and waterfalls, in line with fund documents.
• Prepare investor allocations for each NAV cycle so that capital transactions and P&L are booked and allocated correctly.
• Prepare NAV packages and other ad hoc deliverables defined in the service level agreements.
• Complete other ad hoc requests and projects, and communicate with internal MUFG teams and external clients.
• Prepare and assist with audited financial statements, audit assistance and other regulatory services as applicable.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, or a qualified accountant; other relevant qualifications are an asset.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting, audit or fund administration experience in real estate or property accounting.
• Strong communication with internal and external clients.

Required skills

• Strong accounting knowledge, especially consolidation of profit or loss and balance sheets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; strong Microsoft Office skills and willingness to adopt new technologies.
• Experience with accounting software; Yardi is an advantage.
