Senior Associate, Fund Accountant (Private Equity)

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, part of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group family, partners with over 480 global investment firms on administration, assertion services, banking and fund financing. It is hiring a Senior Associate Fund Accountant for its Private Equity practice in Kuala Lumpur, working in a hybrid setting. The role provides a full range of fund accounting services to private equity clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare NAV, accruals, investment valuations and cash reconciliations
• Prepare fee schedules, including management fee and waterfall calculations, in line with fund documents
• Prepare investor allocations for each NAV cycle so capital transactions and P&L are booked correctly
• Prepare NAV packages and other ad hoc deliverables under the service level agreements
• Prepare capital calls, distributions and their allocation
• Communicate with internal MUFG teams and external clients and resolve client queries promptly
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

Required profile

• University degree in Finance or Accounting, or a qualified accountant; other relevant qualifications preferred
• Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting, audit or fund administration experience in private credit or private equity preferred
• Good written and verbal communication and experience liaising with external parties
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task

Required skills

• Strong accounting knowledge, especially management and performance fees, FX translation, P&L and balance sheet
• Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and Singapore GAAP
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, with Excel proficiency particularly valued
• Investran accounting software knowledge is an advantage
