Process and Equipment Engineer (Inertial Sensors)

About the role

The Process and Equipment Engineer will be responsible for the backend test equipment used in the final testing of inertial sensors and semiconductor components at Bosch's new PgP5 plant in Batu Kawan, Penang. You will ensure high equipment availability, reliability and performance while supporting production ramp‑up and new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain assigned backend test equipment (ATE systems, handlers, probers, unloaders) to meet production demand.
• Plan, execute and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs and corrective actions.
• Develop, qualify and optimise test processes, recipes and parameters for yield, throughput and quality.
• Perform yield monitoring, trend analysis and failure analysis; implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Support test program releases, changes and re‑runs in line with SEMI standards and engineering change controls.
• Lead and participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives such as OEE, cycle‑time and cost reduction.
• Assist capacity planning, line balancing and production ramp‑up, including NPI and volume expansion.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (SOPs, work instructions, PM checklists, FMEA, control plans).

Required profile

• Proactive approach to equipment reliability and process optimisation.
• Experience leading continuous‑improvement projects.
• Ability to support capacity planning and line‑balancing activities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with backend test equipment (ATE systems, handlers, probers, unloaders).
• Preventive maintenance planning and execution.
• Yield monitoring, trend analysis and failure analysis.
• Knowledge of SEMI standards and engineering change management.
• Continuous‑improvement methodologies (OEE, cycle‑time reduction).
• FMEA, SOP, work instruction and control‑plan creation.
