Global Customs Preferential Management & Rules of Origin Executive

About the role

The role supports BASF in complying with international trade regulations and maximising the use of Free Trade Agreements across global operations. It ensures accurate maintenance and validation of data required for preferential origin determination.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, validate and maintain supplier declarations, certificates and supporting documentation for FTAs.
• Support preferential origin determination by managing product composition data, BOMs and supplier information.
• Collaborate with Business Units, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Customs teams to execute Preferential Management activities.
• Participate in meetings, prepare KPI and performance reports, and communicate with customers and suppliers to fulfil FTA‑related requests.
• Assist in identifying duty‑saving opportunities through accurate data maintenance and timely execution of processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in Customs, Foreign Trade, Preferential Management, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain Operations or Shared Services (fresh graduates are welcome).
• Basic understanding of customs regulations, FTAs and Rules of Origin; knowledge of HS tariff classification is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and teamwork skills; structured and detail‑oriented work approach.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting.
• Experience with SAP master data systems, preferably SAP GTS.
• Ability to manage and validate large data sets related to trade compliance.
