Senior Data Protection Expert

About the role

Join Wilhelmsen’s Global Business Services team as a Senior Data Protection Expert. You will partner with business and technology stakeholders to implement security controls, safeguard critical information assets, and support secure digital transformation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and enhance information protection and data security controls.
• Develop and maintain information classification, protection, and secure handling practices.
• Reduce the risk of sensitive information loss, misuse, or unauthorized disclosure.
• Support the secure adoption and governance of AI technologies.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance for projects and strategic initiatives.
• Translate risk, privacy, regulatory, and business requirements into effective security solutions.
• Support analysis and investigation of information protection incidents.
• Contribute to security standards, policies, governance frameworks, and strategic roadmaps.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information protection, data security, data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, or information management.
• Proven experience implementing data protection and governance controls in an enterprise environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Structured, risk‑based, and business‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
