Cover Teacher (Maternity) – International School

About the role

Asia Pacific International School is seeking a maternity cover teacher to maintain continuity of learning for secondary students. The role involves supporting the classroom teacher, delivering lessons to small groups, and ensuring the wellbeing of pupils during the cover period.

Key responsibilities

• Work with small groups of students under the supervising teacher, providing regular feedback on progress.
• Assist with pastoral care, health, hygiene and minor first‑aid needs.
• Prepare classroom displays, manage resources and support the use of ICT in lessons.
• Provide administrative support such as record‑keeping, behaviour management and communication with parents.
• Uphold safeguarding procedures, health and safety standards, and contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos.

Required profile

• Certificate or Diploma in Education (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years of secondary school teaching experience.
• Ability to teach in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Patient, responsible, passionate about teaching and able to foster a positive learning environment.
• Commitment to child safeguarding and equal opportunity principles.
