Policy Intern – CPG & Healthcare

About the role

BowerGroupAsia (BGA) is a leading strategic advisory and government affairs firm serving multinational companies across the Indo‑Pacific. The Consumer Packaged Goods & Healthcare team is building a data‑driven marketing apparatus to grow its business development pipeline, and this internship will sit at the centre of that effort.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct company, stakeholder, and industry research to support business development initiatives, client engagements, and strategic projects.
• Monitor and analyze policy, regulatory, market, and geopolitical developments, identifying implications for clients and business opportunities.
• Track sector‑specific developments and compile timely intelligence for internal and client updates.
• Attend and report on events, conferences, webinars, and discussions hosted by think tanks, universities, government agencies, industry associations, and other relevant institutions.
• Support business development activities, including prospect research, market mapping, opportunity tracking, and preparation of proposal materials.
• Assist with data entry, administrative support, and other ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Pursuing or holding a graduate degree in international affairs, public policy, public affairs, area studies, journalism or a related field; outstanding undergraduate candidates with equivalent experience considered.
• Demonstrated interest in the Indo‑Pacific region and/or government affairs consulting.
• Strong research, analytical and writing skills in English; proficiency in an Asian language is a plus.
• Comfort managing multiple workstreams under deadline pressure.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and collegial; able to take direction from multiple stakeholders.
• Authorization to work in Malaysia is required.
