Payroll Specialist – 12-Month Contract

About the role

The Payroll Specialist will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for multiple APAC entities from a Shared Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur. This 12‑month fixed‑term role ensures compliance with local regulations, internal policies and SOX controls while supporting internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll for several countries, including salary calculations, statutory deductions, adjustments, bank file uploads and payment of statutory reimbursements.
• Respond to employee inquiries on payroll, taxation and benefits promptly and professionally.
• Maintain compliance with local labour laws, tax regulations, CPF, social security and company policies.
• Update employee records and payroll system changes such as promotions, terminations and transfers.
• Monitor time and attendance data to guarantee accurate payroll calculations.
• Resolve payroll‑related queries or discrepancies raised by employees or stakeholders.
• Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, accruals and audit documentation for management and finance teams.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and support payroll system upgrades, testing and migrations.
• Collaborate with external payroll vendors to ensure service quality and compliance.
• Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and responding to queries.
• Ensure timely statutory filings and payments while safeguarding confidential payroll data.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of payroll systems and regulations across several APAC countries.
• High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
