Network Director - ASEAN

About the role

The Network Director – ASEAN leads GRI’s regional network across a dynamic and critical market. Reporting to the Director of Regional Networks, the role defines and executes strategy to increase uptake of GRI Standards, influence policy, and build a sustainable revenue model.

Key responsibilities

• Set and drive GRI’s ASEAN strategy, translating global priorities into country‑specific plans and measurable goals.
• Develop and manage a commercially viable business model, generating earned revenue through training, services, partnerships and grant funding.
• Influence sustainability reporting policy by engaging governments, regulators, stock exchanges and other market institutions.
• Lead a high‑performing regional team, fostering an inclusive culture and ensuring effective delivery of programs and projects.
• Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, risk management and reporting to donors and partners.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of senior leadership experience in corporate sustainability, international development or multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Proven success leading multi‑country strategies and teams in ASEAN or a comparable complex region.
• Track record of developing markets or business models that meet financial targets through earned revenue and partnerships.
• Experience influencing regulators, policymakers or market‑shaping institutions at senior levels.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of sustainability reporting, ESG disclosure and the role of standards in policy and market development.
• Strong commercial judgment, strategic planning and financial management capabilities.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation and public‑speaking skills with credibility at executive and policy levels.
