Mechanical Engineer – Buildings Projects

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Buildings business in Petaling Jaya. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to transform client ideas into built solutions, contributing to complex and high‑impact projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from initial scoping through detailed design, commissioning and handover.
• Prepare technical specifications, reports, cost estimates and ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
• Participate in tender preparation, client negotiations and commercial decision‑making.
• Provide expert advice on feasibility studies, design reviews and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and other stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
• Mentor junior mechanical engineers and share technical expertise across the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in building‑related mechanical engineering.
• Strong passion for innovation, continuous learning and delivering high‑quality engineering solutions.

Required skills

• Mechanical design and analysis.
• Preparation of technical specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations.
• Tender preparation and client negotiation.
