Sr. Associate I, Accounting & Reporting (R2R)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Sr. Associate I in Accounting & Reporting to support Record‑to‑Report (R2R) processes within its Finance, Accounting & Audit function. The role will ensure accurate financial records, execute month‑end close activities and support internal and external reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report activities, including journal entry preparation, period‑end close and group consolidation reporting.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, provisions and adjustments within agreed timelines.
• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities in line with calendars and service level agreements.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Prepare and support financial statements and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze P&L and balance‑sheet movements, providing clear explanations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits, including audit schedule preparation and query responses.
• Handle escalations and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Identify and drive process improvements, standardisation and automation opportunities.
• Assist with new entity onboarding, transitions or process standardisation as required.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Tax and Local Finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) preferred or in progress.
• 2–5 years of relevant Record‑to‑Report experience in a shared services or multinational environment.
• Strong experience in month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end accounting close activities.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, company accounting policies and audit requirements.
• Experience supporting internal and external audit requests.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment with regional or global stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills; SAP closing and reporting experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of internal controls and compliance standards.
