Senior Associate II, Financial Reporting & Accounting (R2R)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Associate II to join its Finance, Accounting & Audit team in Selangor. The role focuses on end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report (R2R) activities, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the company’s global financial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full R2R cycle, including journal entry preparation, period‑end close, and group consolidation reporting.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, provisions and adjustments within agreed timelines.
• Perform month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities in line with calendars and service level agreements.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations, investigate variances and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze P&L and balance‑sheet movements and provide clear explanations.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and IFRS standards.
• Assist internal and external audits, preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Mentor junior team members and handle escalations.
• Identify and drive process improvements, standardisation and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Tax and Local Finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA) preferred or in progress.
• 5–7 years of R2R experience in a shared‑services or multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Solid understanding of IFRS, company accounting policies and audit requirements.
• Experience working with regional or global stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
